Adam Jonathon Smalley

Adam was born on 16th April 1999.He was such a beautiful boy,I was the happiest person on earth.I
had the perfect family,a little girl,Sophie,and now Adam-I should have known happiness like that
doesn't last,but I must be grateful for the time we had together.I was lucky enough to have 7 and a
half wonderful months with him.
He died on 25th November 1999.His daddy found him in his cot as I was downstairs making his
breakfast-his favourite,banana rusks-he'd get it everywhere!
The events of that morning will remain with me forever-from wondering where my husband had
dissapeared to when he took so long to come back downstairs,to jumping up the stairs in 1 go when I
went to find him and saw my husband sat on the stairs,head in hands,to running round the house
hysterically.Then phoning for help and subsequently trying in vain to bring my son back to
life-knowing it was too late.
The paramedics and doctor arrived and confirmed the obvious-my beautiful boy was gone,our lives had
changed forever.
We have since had a brother for Adam,Michael,whom we adore and tell about him.But there is still,and
always will be,a big hole in our family.


Adam,sweetheart,not a day goes by that I don't think of you,talk to you,miss you.

And whenever everyone have deserted you they still will be your friend.
A friend once said to me that a friend is sent from God above and I believe this to be true.

The Angel was waiting,
Time was so near.
Then without hesitating,
The Angel was clear,
Who had been chosen,
To make this journey.
For God's own reason,
The Angel could see.
So tiny, so special,
While they lay sleeping.
God sent His Angel,
For the final blessing.
Wrapped in Angel Arms,
Sheltered beneath their wings,
Far from earthly harms,
The Angel softly sings
Beginning their sacred journey,
To the Promised Land.
The Angel acted faithfully,
To God's each command.
